For some reason, a George R. R. Martin book is on top of the Amazon Humor charts. Buy your copy today and help us defeat him and claim the Irony Throne for Devastator!

I wrote a story for this book. If you enjoy stories about high school, human sacrifice and Time-Life Books, you can buy it digitally today or get the print edition on Sept 30th.

‘THE DEVASTATOR’ #11 GOES OTAKU WITH FELIPE SMITH, KC GREEN AND JOE LO TRUGLIO
By Chris Sims
The change of seasons has brought a chill to the air and widely available apple cider once again, but those are merely a prelude to something better: The new issue of The Devastator, our favorite comedy magazine. In previous issues, Devastator‘s mix of comics, text pieces, graphs and the occasional board game has taken on topics like hipsters, spies, crossovers and even the apocalypse, but this time, the quarterly mag is taking on anime, manga, and even a few video games in the newest Otaku-themed edition. And yes: The graphs are back, in the form of a pretty amazing flow chart helping you to answer the question of “Is This Hentai?”
Contributions to The Devastator: Otaku include a cover by All New Ghost Rider writer and Peepo Choo creator Felipe Smith, a new installment of The Anime Club by Gunshow and Back creator  K.C. Green, and a series of ads for an anime sex pillow dating service featuring Brooklyn Nine Nine‘s Joe Lo Truglio. Seriously.
PREVIEW AT COMICS ALLIANCE

I wrote a Hello Kitty parody for this issue. The digital version is out now and the print edition comes out next week. Check it out!

Hey - I’m doing this ridiculous show at the Comedy Central Stage this week. It’s loosely based on some pieces I wrote for The Devastator. And James Urbaniak is in it. Woo!

I wrote a series of infographics that answer the question “Why is KISS in everything?” You can read it as part of this preview for Devastator 8: Crossovers. Plus there’s a comic written by Asterios Kokkinos and an epic poem by Kevin Pedersen.

Also, KISS just bought an arena football team, which they will be calling the LA KISS. Sigh.

Finally, the perfect use for The Smiths.
